My sister

Just a quickie for today. My sister was recently featured in an online art magazine called The Flaneur. The interview can be found at http://flaneur.me.uk/10/1768/#comment-676. Please read the interview and see how a modern-day artist makes their living in the real world.

I don’t know if she knows this, but my sister is a real artistic inspiration to me. I just visited her blog for what I confess is the first time in several months, and my jaw dropped when I saw her most recent output. She’s always been talented, more so artistically than I ever was, but nowhere is it more apparent than in her artwork. I appreciate art but it’s rare for me to get involved in a painting. I find it impossible to merely glance at Alicia’s artwork. There is so much going on it draws me in. I find the variety of styles therein fascinating as well: with my uncultured eye I see Monet, Picasso, some Bosch (which I’m sure she appreciates), even some Dali (which she might not appreciate ;) ).

Please read the interview, then visit her blog (http://art.aliciaraya.com/). It is worth a visit.
